Feedback On Your Blogs
Hi guys,
I am currently going through your blogs and giving feedback in the comments section. Some blogs are not allowing me to comment. I am hoping this is a temporary glitch with Blogger and I will be able to upload my comments soon.

Homework Due: 9th Feb
You should all bring in a draft of the text for your article for your 2-page spread for next week's lesson.
You should also have a rough flat plan of the layout of your 2-page spread.

Today's Task
G'day.
Today we are focusing on three things:
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.
Today we are focusing on three things:
- Analysing the magazines you brought in for homework. These should have a simialr target audience and house style to your own magazine. Either scan in a two-page spread or describe it and analyse the features.
- Making flat plans for your two-page spread, based on your analysis of similar publications. Keep it simple, but add annotations.
- Ensuring you are reflecting, evaluating and commenting in your blog. I have noticed that many of you are merely describing your processes, rather than explaining why you made certain choices. For each stage of research and planning you recount, explain why you chose to do this, using technical/specialist vocabulary. Link to your knowledge of audience/genre/theory wherever possible.

Homework Task for Foundation Portfolio
Hi kiddies,
Here is the homework task I set in yesterday's lesson. It is due next Wednesday during lesson time.
Part 1
Bring in a magazine with a similar target audience and house style to the one you are planning to create. It does not have to be exactly the same, but it should have enough in common in terms of content, style and audience to help you with ideas for your own work.
Part 2
Mind map as many ideas for articles as you can. Be specific. Keep in mind your intended audience and house style. Include the following information:
– Type of artist/band featured and the type of article (interview, feature etc)
– Summary of article
– Style and tone of writing (use of slang/language specific to certain groups/genres)
– How it positions the reader E.g. as a close friend, an informed fan etc.
– Type of image/s used (use technical vocabulary)
– Use of colour
– Use of fonts
See you Wednesday!
